V.me by Visa coming to the Europe this autumn, cash starts begging for another chance
Visa Europe is muscling in on the European mobile payments game with V.me. The online service will allow you to store cards from different agencies (including American Express) for payments online and at NFC-enabled cash registers. It is expected to arrive in the UK, Spain and France in the Autumn, but it'll sadly be too late for it to gain any traction, since we'll have worked out how to glue PayTag stickers to our forehead by then.

Virgin Mobile Canada announces HTC One S giveaway, suggests $600 retail price
Much like within the US, the HTC One S has yet to invade the Canadian shoreline. While the smartphone is expected to arrive at a number of carriers, Virgin Mobile has never been one to pass up a promotional opportunity. Accordingly, it's launched a teaser page for HTC's brawny middleweight, along with a giveaway that promises a free handset to two lucky individuals. Curiously, it seems the contest rules may have outed Virgin's off-contract price for the One S, and while the $600 figure is no shocker, it certainly gives purchasers an idea of what to expect. In related news, the Bell subsidiary is also currently offering the HTC One S to five beta testers -- so, if you're feeling like a good samaritan, feel free to make your case in the second source link below.

Boeing CST-100 capsule could shuttle astronauts to ISS, shows off its innards in Colorado Springs
With the Space Shuttle now officially grounded, NASA has been researching alternatives for ferrying astronauts from Earth to the International Space Station, orbiting some 230 miles above the planet. One such vehicle has made its way from Boeing's HQ to the National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, where a full-size model is on display for conference attendees. Externally, the spacecraft appears very similar to the reentry modules of yesteryear, measuring 14.5 feet with room for up to seven people. The craft is designed to make its way through the atmosphere mounted to an Atlas V rocket, and is rated for up to 10 roundtrip missions. As is typical with spacecraft, it looks like astronauts won't be traveling with first-class accommodations -- things will likely feel quite cozy when the CST-100 is at capacity -- but such conditions come with the territory. There's no date set for delivery, but the craft could be making its way to space as early as 2015, and has reportedly been tested in the Nevada desert as recently as this month.

Samsung reportedly axes Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 production to add quad-core CPU
This is, well, a little strange. The fine folks over at Netbooknews are reporting that Samsung has ended production on the GT P5100 -- better known as the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The story comes courtesy of an unnamed "Korean Samsung insider" who claims the device is getting upgraded to a quad-core CPU. Whether the chip in question is the much lauded 32nm Exynos 4412, which packs not only four Cortex A9 cores, but four Mali 604 GPU cores as well, is unknown. It's also not clear how this is going to affect US launch plans. Rumors are the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be getting a similar brain transplant before hitting the market. Sadly, all we can do right now hold our breath and wish real hard that both will hit shelves sooner rather than later and with an extra pair of cores in tow. Sammy better get a move on too if it's gonna have to give Uncle Sam another crack at this slate.

Always Tired ? Self-Help Tips To Restore Your Energy
?
Many people think that overcoming tiredness takes a lot of money and effort. This is just a misconception. In fact, you can beat tiredness all by yourself just by following these simple self-help tips.?
?
Snack on healthy foods. Eating snacks is one of the ways to beat tiredness because they sustain your energy level and they prevent hunger pangs. You need to make sure though that these snacks are not filled with sugar and fats. Do not snack on junk foods instead snack on wholegrain products or fruits. Nuts are also great as they do not contain much fat and they provide the body enough protein.?
?
Eat often. This is also connected with the previous tip. Studies show that it is better for people to eat small meals often. Therefore, aside from the 3 primary meals, you should also eat snacks. This will make sure that the body has enough energy to consume from food. This will also improve your metabolism. Watch your portions though and try not to overeat during a meal.?
Do physical activities. Many people normally do not want to exercise. They think that if they exercise, they will lose the remaining energy that they currently have. They fail to realize that this kind of mindset is what is making them all the more tired. If you want to get energy, you need to burn those fats and use them as your energy source. Anyway, you do not need to tire yourself out to get exercise and energy. All you need is to walk for about 20 minutes outside and it is done.??
Stay fit? lose weight. Gone were the days when people believed that you need to eat a lot always to get energy. Different researches that losing weight is actually an effective way of restoring energy. When a person is overweight or obese, the body feels tired easily because it has a lot of weight to carry. In addition to this, people who weight too much also have difficulty in breathing when they move around which means that the oxygen level is not enough to cater to all body systems. Therefore, you need to help yourself by losing weight a little. You do not need a model type body. All you need to target the normal state in the BMI.?
?
Sleep. Sometimes, all you need to restore that energy back is sleep. It sounds so easy yet a lot of people are having difficulties in doing so because they prioritize their work or leisure over their health. It is okay to go to parties or work overtime but never compromise your body. You need at least 7 hours of sleep each night to make sure that you will not feel tired the next day. If you do not care so much about not having enough energy, then go on and deprive your body of sleep.?
?
These are simple self-help tips that anyone can do. You do not have to spend thousands in beating tiredness. All you need is discipline and the motivation to achieve your goal.?

TNT Express, which used operations research to modernize operations and strengthen its carbon footprint, won the 2012 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences at a banquet sponsored by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) in Huntington Beach last night.
The competition took place at the INFORMS 2012 Conference on Business Analytics and Operations Research. INFORMS is the premier organization for advanced analytics professionals.
"Little did we know when the financial crisis hit us hard in 2008 that we'd be standing here tonight at the Edelman Award ceremony," said Chris Goosens, the company's Managing Director Global Networks and Operations.
The Franz Edelman competition, now celebrating its 40th year, attests to the contributions of operations research and analytics in the profit and non-profit sectors. Since its inception in 1972, cumulative dollar benefits from Edelman finalist projects have reached $180 billion.
Every week 4.7 million parcels, documents, and pieces of freight must be transported by TNT Express to over 200 countries while maintaining the company's service standards. Until recently, this was done without mathematical support. In 2005 TNT moved to a fact-based decision-making system, the Global Optimization (GO) Program, which uses mathematical modeling.
As a result, decision-making improved system-wide, with significant operational benefits. Between 2008 and 2011, TNT Express realized more than 207 million in savings and benefits.
The six finalists competing in the 2012 Franz Edelman Award Competition included teams from Carlson Hotels, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Greek shipping company Danaos Corporation, HP, and Intel.
Professor Graham Rand of the Lancaster University Management School in the United Kingdom was master of ceremonies of the gala at which the Edelman winner was announced.
Every year, the Franz Edelman competition recognizes outstanding examples of operations research-based projects that have transformed companies, entire industries, and people's lives. O.R. uses advanced analytical methods to help make better decisions.

Past Franz Edelman winners include MISO, Indeval, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and IBM. Additional information about the Edelman Competition is online at http://www.scienceofbetter.org/Edelman.
